When setting up applications in Chaturbate, be aware of Legacy applications.
Legacy is Chaturbate’s term for applications that were built using its old application code. These applications are no longer updated or supported by their developers, and Chaturbate recommends not using them.

Legacy applications may work perfectly today and continue working for a long time. However as Chaturbate continues to change, the application does not. If a future change affects something the application depends on, there will be no update available to fix it.
Chaturbate continues to update and change its platform. The longer a Legacy application goes without being updated, the greater the chance that one of those changes could affect how it works.
Think of it as older applications that no longer work on your computer due to updates in it's operating system. However, Chaturbate doesn't give you the option not to update the operating system because it updates it's own "operating system."

Even current applications can be impacted by changes Chaturbate makes. Not because the developer built it incorrectly or did anything wrong, but because Chaturbate changed something the application depended on. The difference is it's more likely the current application's developer will release an update to fix the issue.

A Legacy application may continue to work exactly as designed, but still miss newer capabilities introduced by Chaturbate. That can mean fewer options, less flexibility, and missed opportunities to improve the broadcast experience or create more engaging interactions for users.

The biggest concern is not simply that it may fail someday, it is when it fails.
Applications that affect income, paid access, or customer fulfillment create greater risk when they fail.
If a Legacy Hidden Show application fails, the room may unexpectedly return to public mode. Then you must stop, identify affected users through token history, manually restore access, and communicate what happened.
Even a smaller failure, such as a wheel not registering a paid spin, interrupts the broadcast while you verify payment and determines how to compensate the user.
The impact is not just technical failure. It is lost momentum, disrupted income, and a poorer user experience.
How to identify Legacy apps in the application About section

Under the application name, Chaturbate displays category labels. Legacy applications will include a Legacy label.

On the right side of the application page, Chaturbate displays a yellow ⚠️ Legacy Bot or ⚠️ Legacy App warning.
It shows up better in dark mode.

Chaturbate also displays a warning beneath the application details:
“Legacy Apps and Bots have limited features and performance. It is recommended to find alternatives without this label.”

Filter Out Legacy Apps When Searching
When searching Chaturbate’s application catalog, use the Filter menu and select No “Legacy Apps.” This removes Legacy applications from your search results so you can focus on applications that are still current.
I recommend turning this filter on whenever you are looking for a new application. Otherwise, Legacy applications can appear alongside current applications and may still look attractive because of strong ratings, large numbers of installs, or many favorites.
Filtering them out first helps prevent you from accidentally choosing an application that Chaturbate itself recommends replacing with a non-Legacy alternative.
